Admittedly there are days when it seems like NOTHING will put a spring in your step–not even looking at the petite lap giraffe webcam! This is only my 5th day of trying to find “today’s happiness” and I’m already struggling (sad but true!). I mean there are lots of things that make me smile throughout the day, but after constantly reprimanding the kids, coming up with meal ideas, unloading and reloading the dishwasher, etc. my mood kind of sours. It’s always a battle of the “have-tos” versus the “want-tos” (i.e. I HAVE to clean up the kitchen, but I WANT to kick up my heels and read the latest issue of US Weekly).
So since I’m feeling a little blah about today, I’m going to talk about what’s to come: a spa weekend getaway! My friend Rachel and I are heading to Deerfield Spa tomorrow a.m. for her birthday, but I feel like it’s more of a gift to myself than to her! I can get through today knowing that I have a warm stone massage to look forward to, some healthy meals, and of course quality time with my friend (and myself).
What are you guys looking forward to? Any exotic vacation plans in-the-works? A hot dinner date? Let me know what’s keeping you motivated and happy. Feel free to share so we can all live vicariously through you!
Enjoy the day my friends.
xoxo

I’m looking forward to next Wednesday when Brian takes the kids to back up daycare for the day – the full day – from 6:30AM to 6:30PM. Yay, Spring Break!

That’s great, Heather! What are you going to do for the day?

I am looking forward to getting the kids to be early and having a late dinner (of take-out) with my husband. Nothing better than feeling cozy at home and having a chance to really talk without dirty diapers, running kids or homework to do! Tara, I LOVE your blog! Keep it coming!!

You’re right, Melissa–there is nothing better than just getting to chill with your man after a long day of mommy-related tasks. Enjoy! And thanks for sharing. 🙂 I’m so glad this blog resonates with you. That makes me feel great! xx
